As we prepare our new bank of visuals for the March 11th show at The End. we share this video for Delicate Steve's "Butterfly." This thing makes us really happy- a complete collaboration of art forms coming together in front of a community cornfield in New Jersey. Enjoy!

Anyway we will be mixing live visuals for Delicate Steve's shows in Lexington and then in Nashville on March 11th. This is a little promo clip we threw together to promote the Nashville show and the visual aesthetic surrounding the music.
It was created with a single acrylic painting that Tripp painted a year ago which was then layered in a spherical 3d pattern and textruized with various plugins in After Effects. The song in the clip is "Butterfly" by Delicate Steve which is on his latest LP "Wondervisions."

Yet another Flying Lotus music video we've found ourselves in love with. The blend of cg with the hand drawn aesthetic makes this thing a totally vibrant experience. Directed by Beeple it utilizes his technical expertise in Cinema 4d to place his quirky hand drawn characters into a pulsatingly brilliant 3d world. kinda makes us want to live there, minus all the chopped off heads and arms and bloody guts. All of the material on Beeple's website is fully downloadable and usable in your own projects as well. Really you should check his stuff out now- we've already been stuck for hours absorbed in his work.....

ENTER THE VOID
Tripp was lucky enough to catch Gaspar Noe's latest film "Enter the Void" in a tiny stifiling theatre in New York a couple months back. To experience the movie is to have your soul torn out and your teeth smashed in, but totally love every ounce of it. If you've got a chance to see it, do it, and do it now. We post the intro credits, because as most of our posts, they greatly inspire us. We're also super obsessed with the song, which after much searching we found for downloading HERE.
Expanding Anyway : Live from Boca Raton
The new music video for Morning Teleportation will be released here in the next week or so. We decided to mix a few scenes from it to the live version of the song for the show with the Flaming Lips. Jenna and I sat behind the screen so were unable to watch much of the crowd reaction. Tripp was able to get a bit of a glimpse of the show at one point from the guise of a haphazard umbrella weilding drunkard.....
Technicolor Leak
We're just about to wrap up post production on our newest Holiday Animation. The only thing left to do is add in the transitions and a couple sound effects here and there and all will be perfect.
Our 20 second visual short, "Technicolor Leak" was chosen as a finalist for the Smile For London competition which will place twenty quirky videos onto the lcd screens in the London Underground train station. This clip was modified from a shorter clip used in our "Expanding Anyway" music video for Morning Teleportation. It was created by photographing various colors of paint dripping onto white sheets of paper and then keying out the white in post production. We then created a 3d camera in after effects and flew it through the scene.
Because we have oh so many visuals laying around our hard drives we have decided to upload some of them for others to enjoy. All of these come from things we've filmed or painted or photgraphed and then carelessly edited together into a haphazard nonesensical mess. These nonsensical messes then become individual visuals that we use for our LIVE SHOWS. Enjoy!

We've been busy doing all the Christmas nonsense lately: drinking egg nog, playing super nes, and watching the muppets christmas carol so much it hurts. Our newest holiday animation is now in the post production phase and we plan to release it on the one month anniversary of Christmas. We hope everyone is enjoying their break as much as we are.... Here's our 2008 holiday animation which was filmed in Jenna's parents garage in South Carolina to hold everyone over....
Smile For London
Smile For London is a contest Vimeo is holding which will pick and then place fifty, 20 second silent videos/animations onto the plasma screens in the London Underground. We've scraped together ten pieces for submission and they are currently chilling on the group page on vimeo. If you happen to be reading this and also happen to have the next eight seconds to spare, we certainly would not and could not complain if you simply went to this LINK and pressed the little "heart" button on a few of our videos on the first page. If you were here with us we might just make you a damn good cup of coffee for doing so...

Today while working we watched casper, the first wive's club, while you were sleeping, cool runnings, wallace and grommit, and 42nd street on an unearthed vhs tape player in Tripp's parent's basement. The first scene of our holiday animation shall hopefully be completed tonight!

We were able to unearth some HD footage of Morning Teleportation performing before the Flaming Lips from a more than friendly videographer who we stumbled across at the Boca Raton show. We were allowed use of the Flaming Lips's epic LED screen to mix live visuals, which made for quite a spectacle. We were ready to tack our walmart bed sheet-screen up on stage when they told us to just use their setup instead. Their setup being a $250,000 half carnival ride half LED curtain that was invented on a napkin and brought to life by Wayne and his right hand man-video scientist Satchem. It will be very humbling to return to that Dell projector and wrinkly semi stained wal mart sheet....
And in other news.... We are currently in the midst of steam-training out another fully stop-motion animated holiday card. This will be a sequel to our holiday card from two years prior and we plan to have it completed by mid December.

Here it is. Our newest playlist for the time of the year when the oranges and reds are starting to shrivel their ends every so slightly and the sun seems to almost always be hiding behind a gray veil. A little 80s, a little punkish, and a little inspired by John Hughes, this playlist is perfect for pulling the windows open and letting the air rush in. Its also even better when played on some nice headphones, tucked underneath a favorite hoody, whilst strolling around a nearby forest. Kick around some leaves and take some deeper breaths, the seasons are changing.....
